“The hattrick was not enough for me” – Free-scoring Orban says after leading Gent to big win
Orban scored his third hattrick for Gent since he joined the club in January, but he is hungry for me
Nigerian striker Gift Orban has stated that his hattrick for Gent in their 4-0 victory against Cercle Brugge did not satisfy him, Soccernet.ng reports.
Orban has been phenomenal for the Buffaloes since his €3.5million transfer from Norwegian club Stabaek to the Jupiler League big boys Gent in January.
The 21-year-old Nigerian striker has notched 19 goals and two assists in 19 appearances for Gent, helping them to the league’s playoffs. He scored a goal each in his side’s first two playoff fixtures, but he took it a notch higher on Saturday when he scored a hattrick to seal a 4-0 win for Gent.
Speaking after his heroics, Orban revealed that he was far from satisfied with his performance.
“Every match is important to me. Three goals are not enough for me, I want more. But every striker just wants to score. I live for goals,” Orban told Gent media.
Gent still have three games left in the playoffs. With the rate at which he is going, he could score 25 goals before the end of the season.
