A Premier League giant is reportedly preparing a bid to bring Sadio Mane back to England’s top division only a season after he left for Bayern Munich.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea want to bring the Senegalese marksman back to the English top flight, and are now planning to submit a proposal to the Bundesliga club to secure his signature.
The reigning CAF Men’s Player of the Year has endured an erratic time in Germany, and following his recent physical altercation with teammate Leroy Sane, the Bavarians are said to already be looking to ship their marquee signing out.
The Blues are understood to be looking for a new forward after struggling to find the back of the net this season. In 2022/23, the west Londoners have scored only 46 goals in all competitions, and while they would reportedly like to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, it is believed the two-time European champions will not be able to compete with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain for the Nigerian forward’s signature.
It is for this apparent reason that the English club’s hierarchy have decided to shift their attention to another African superstar in Mane, seemingly believing he is a more realistic target.
The 31-year-old was prolific in the Premier League prior to his departure for the Allianz Arena, scoring 111 goals in 263 appearances during his time with Southampton and Liverpool.
The same report claims that Chelsea’s manager-elect, Mauricio Pochettino, is also receptive to the idea of welcoming Mane to Stamford Bridge.

It remains to be seen if the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations winner will join the Blues, though. The five-time English champions will not be competing in Europe next season, which could be a deterrent for Mane, and Chelsea are also highly unlikely to be his only suitors.
