Manchester City 2-2 Crystal Palace
Manchester City dropped points for the fifth time in their last six matches after they blew a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium.
Man City were still without Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku, as Julian Alvarez, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish led the attack.
Grealish broke the deadlock for the Citizens on 24 minutes and Rico Lewis doubled their lead early in the second stanza.
Jean-Philippe Mateta pulled a goal back for Palace with 14 minutes remaining and Michael Olise levelled matters for the visitors in stoppage time from the penalty spot.
Pep Guardiola’s charges dropped down to fourth on the table, three points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
Chelsea 2-0 Sheffield United
Chelsea ended their two-game losing run after beating Sheffield United 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino dropped the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Armando Broja after a 2-0 loss to Everton while Christopher Nkunku was named on the bench after a long injury lay-off.
After a goalless first stanza, Cole Palmer broke the deadlock for Chelsea early in the second stanza after he was setup by Raheem Sterling.
Palmer turned to be the provider of the second goal for the hosts on the hour-mark as Nicolas Jackson secured the three points for Chelsea.
Newcastle United 3-0 Fulham
Ten-man Newcastle United halted their three-game losing streak in all competitions after thrashing Fulham 3-0 at St. James’ Park.
The Cottagers were on the backfoot midway into the first stanza after they were reduced to ten men following the red-card of Raul Jimenez, who was sent off for a dangerous tackle after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.
Lewis Miley eventually broke the deadlock for Newcastle just before the hour-mark and Miguel Almiron doubled their lead shortly thereafter.
Dan Burn put the game to bed for the Eddie Howe’s charges with the third goal eight minutes before time.
Bournemouth P-P Luton Town (game abandoned)
The match between Bournemouth and Luton Town was abandoned with 65 minutes played after Luton captain Tom Lockyer collapsed on the pitch at Vitality Stadium.
Elijah Adebayo gave the Hatters an early lead and Dominic Solanke levelled matters for the Cherries just before the hour-mark.
However, the game was suspended on 65 minutes after Lockyer required medical attention after he collapsed on the pitch and both set of players went back to the dressing room.
After 20 minutes or so of the game being suspended, it was eventually abandoned.
Luton have since confirmed that Lockyer is responsive and is communicating.
