Onyeka reveals the two toughest clubs in the Premier League

Premier League: Onyeka’s last-minute sting helps Brentford defeat Awoniyi’s Nottingham Forest

Brentford had a very good campaign last season, but they faced some tough foes on the way to their 9th-place finish

Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has revealed that the two toughest Premier League clubs he has faced are Manchester City and Arsenal, Soccernet.ng reports.

Onyeka arrived at Brentford from Danish side FC Midtjylland two summers ago for €10million, and he has formed an important part of Frank Thomas’ side.

The 25-year-old midfielder has had spells when he struggled to get playtime, but he has proven to be a consistent performer.

Since he joined the club, Onyeka has made 41 Premier League appearances for Brentford. Last season, they finished 13th, but they took it a notch higher this season, securing a 9th-place finish.

Last season, Brentford were the only Premier League team to defeat Manchester City home and away. However, Onyeka has revealed that it did not come at an easy cost.

The former Midtjylland man has revealed the toughest opposition he faced last season, and the Cityzens top the list.

“It’s the Premier League, every team is hard to play against, but Arsenal and Manchester City, in particular, are the toughest teams; they make you run all through,” Onyeka told Brila FM.

“The Premier League is different in a lot of ways from the Danish League. English football is fast, the pitch and the players are better and stronger.

“But, don’t get me wrong. The Danish league is also good, strong, and physical.”

Manchester City were champions of the Premier League last season, while Arsenal finished second.
