Roberto Mancini blindsided Italy to join Saudi Arabia
Former Manchester manager Roberto Mancini stunned Italian fans this summer as he resigned from his position as the head coach of the national team. Mancini did not give Italy even time to find a replacement, as the manager ditched the team with immediate effect. To add salt to the wound, the manager then joined Saudi Arabia just fourteen days later, reportedly penning a cushy deal.
The manager has signed a four-year deal with the side which will see him remain as the nation’s head coach until 2027. Mancini’s sudden resignation did not sit down well with the Italian soccer federation who were allegedly fuming at his actions. The manager too had lost interest in working with the team, as he was supposedly frustrated with the composition of his coaching staff.
