Liverpool interested in Germany international
Liverpool welcome rivals Everton to Anfield on Saturday for the first Merseyside derby of the season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have started the new season strongly, winning five of their eight Premier League matches so far to sit fourth in the top flight table.
The Toffees, meanwhile, have struggled and look likely to once again be involved in a relegation scrap by the end of the season.
Despite the Reds’ impressive start to the new campaign, it appears that those in charge of the club are already looking ahead to the upcoming transfer windows, and identifying potential targets.
As per BILD’s Christian Falk, the Merseyside outfit are interested in Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala.
The German journalist claims that the player is currently not in discussions with his employers about extending his contract, which is set to expire in 2026.
Musiala, 20, left the Chelsea academy to join Bayern back in 2019 and has since made 133 appearances for the club across all competitions.
The attacking midfielder has scored 32 goals and provided 25 assists in that time, establishing himself as one of the best young players in the world.
Having represented England at youth level, Musiala switched his international allegiance to Germany as a teenager and has since been capped 24 times by his country.
Liverpool completed a midfield overhaul during the recent summer transfer window, with several players including Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and James Milner all departing.
Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch were among the players signed to replace them, but it appears that Klopp and those in charge of the club are keen to add to their attacking options.
