How to watch USWNT vs. Sweden soccer in USA: Live stream and TV channel for Women’s World Cup knockout match

Sorry, Americans: It’s another early morning start for the USWNT in the Women’s World Cup as the team takes on Sweden in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

A 5 a.m. ET kickoff (2 a.m. PT) will leave many sleep schedules upended yet again — even with the stakes much higher than before.

The USWNT went 1-0-2 in the group stage and advanced to the knockout stage hanging on by a fingernail with a 0-0 draw with Portugal. The team finished one point ahead of the World Cup-debuting team in the end-all, be-all Group E standings.

The U.S.’s Round of 16 opponent, Sweden, is 3-0, having led Group G with zero issues and easily adding its name to the bracket. The Swedes outscored their group opponents — Italy, South Africa and Argentina — by a combined 9-1.

There are two scenarios for the States’ World Cup path from here. A win would advance the team to play in the quarterfinals on Friday. A loss would end the team’s World Cup run earlier than ever before: The U.S. has never been eliminated before the semifinals, and never finished worse than third place.
