Chris Brady replaces Gabriel Slonina on USMNT U-23’s camp roster
U.S. men’s Olympic head coach Marko Mitrovic has been forced to make a change in his goalkeeping ranks for this month’s pair of international friendlies.
Chicago Fire goalkeeper Chris Brady has replaced Gabriel Slonina on the roster due to injury, U.S. Soccer announced Monday. Slonina recently featured in Eupen’s 4-0 Belgian Pro League loss to Standard Liege on Saturday.
Brady featured in two of the USMNT U-23’s friendlies last fall, playing in a 4-1 win over Japan before also featuring in a 1-0 loss to Morocco. The Illinois native was part of the USMNT U-20 squad that helped the U.S. qualify for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
Brady earned Golden Glove honors at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in July 2022 after registering four clean sheets.
At club level, Brady has made 35 starts for the Fire since debuting in 2022. He most recently registered the winning assist in Chicago’s thrilling 4-3 comeback league victory over CF Montreal.
The USMNT U-23’s will face Guinea on Friday, March 22, in Olot, Spain, before traveling to face France on Monday, March 25 in Montbeliard, France.
