The Carabao Cup is quickly approaching the pointy end for its 2022/23 campaign.
Two of the four semifinalists have already been determined as Manchester United and Newcastle United advanced past Charlton Athletic and Leicester City, respectively.
The final two spots will also feature Premier League teams as Nottingham Forest host Wolves and Southampton take on juggernaut Manchester City.
Charlton Athletic were the remaining lower division side in the competition, but their run ended in the quarterfinals as the Premier League gets set to claim the trophy once again.

The Carabao Cup quarterfinal draw took place on Thursday, December 22 after the final Round of 16 match between Liverpool and Manchester City. The draw took place on Sky Sports in the UK.
The two Manchester clubs were clear-cut favorites to reach the tournament semi finals after avoiding one another in the draw.
Newcastle were favorites at home against Leicester and advanced, while Nottingham Forest are given the slight edge at home against Wolves.
Leicester City were the only team of the final eight in 2022/23 who also played in the quarterfinals last season, losing to Liverpool on penalties after a 3-3 draw. This time they fell to Newcastle at the same stage.

The Carabao Cup quarterfinals are scheduled to take place across Tuesday, January 10 and Wednesday, January 11.
This is later than usual due to the 2022 World Cup with the 2021/22 quarterfinals played on December 21-22.
Is there extra time, penalties in Carabao Cup quarterfinals?
Should a Carabao Cup quarterfinal end level after 90 minutes in 2023, the game will go directly to a penalty shootout.
Extra time is only used in the competition for the semifinals and final.
The Carabao Cup previously had extra time in every round of the tournament but EFL clubs voted to limit its use in 2018/19.
